We have selected a few projects both residential and commercial that highlight what we can do and present them with both text and image. Sometimes part of the documents are redacted to protect the privacy of our clients. Enjoy!

GREEN GULCH FARM AND ZEN CENTER
Sky Hall
We have been involved in two projects at Green Gulch Farm and Zen Center in Marin County. This picture shows the path and patio plantings to the newly constructed Sky Hall building that we did all the landscape design work for. We also planted native grasses, shrubs and trees to stabilize a steep bank and other erosion prone areas.

Sky Hall
The view along the front of Sky Hall. We selected a jasmine to trail up the side of the lower level patio and the upper level balcony to make the building fit into the landscape better, give a much needed view break between rooms and allow its profusely fragrant flowers to share its scent with the occupants.

This picture shows the main entrance to the new house. On this project we did the entire landscape design, all of the permit application work and all post construction documentation (MAWA calculations, as built plans etc.). We also provided construction management services for the landscape part of the project.

Due to strict county rules concerning replacement trees for vegetation that is removed during construction we had to spend a lot of time negotiating with the county and find space for replacement trees.

This property has a lot of wonderful older landscape features to work off. Our job was to fill in with hardscape, patios, paths, planter beds, water features, etc.

View from back deck, looking over lower garden. Working with elevation differences is always an interesting challenge. Here we settled on a large deck that functions as an extension of the house and provides outdoor living space. The lower vegetable garden is separated by the stairs that double as secondary seating during large parties.

The client wanted half of her new greenhouse to be a production area and the other half to be a spa. In this picture the stonewalls are in and we are about to carry in the claw foot tub and put it on the little wooden deck. The production side is kept easily flexible by using fabric pots.

To allow the new puppy to have full reign over the back yard we fenced it in. Easily maneuverable gates with key less locks helps to maintain easy flow of traffic around the house.
